One player holds a secret celebrity. Everyone else asks yes/no questions, alive? actor?, and races to name them before the 20-question reveal.

How to play Guess Who? Celebrity Edition

Guess Who? Celebrity Edition gives one player, the answerer, a secret celebrity and a full trait card: gender, alive or not, profession, nationality, age range, hair color, and what they're famous for. Everyone else asks yes/no questions, 'Are they alive?', 'Are they an actor?', 'Are they male?', and the answerer clicks Yes or No. The question log grows, the counter ticks toward 20, and at any moment a player can type a name guess. Guess right and you win the round; burn all 20 questions and the secret is revealed.

Rules & scoring

Only the answerer sees the celebrity and answers questions. Anyone else can ask a question or attempt a guess at any time. A correct guess, matched against the full name or last name, ignoring case and accents, ends the round immediately. After 20 answered questions with no correct guess, the celebrity is revealed and nobody scores. The bank holds 205 celebrities across music, film, sports, science, politics, and history.

Tips to win

Ask elimination questions, not identification questions: 'Are they alive?' halves the board; 'Are they in sports?' quarters it. Save your guess until the field is small, a wrong guess only costs a turn, but a right one wins the round, so go for it when you're down to two or three candidates. Answerers: be honest and fast; the yes/no rhythm is what makes the game tense.
